Ringo I said in a firm voice “easy now” I’m hoping Ringo will steady up on
the next prairie chicken, “RINGO!” He brook again!! On and on, when is
this going to stop? Ringo is 6 months old… I shot my limit many days that
year, some over point. Over the next 4 years I hunted with Ringo each
fall. In his third year he carried the titled VC Shooting Starr’s Ringo MH.
I still hunt the same as before, Ringo sure doesn’t!
I’m thinking how do I tell some person this is the sport to go with? One
year the bird numbers are at big time highs the next is almost never the
same. The truth, each bird is a real Trophy. Every day in the field is a
great day bumped birds included!
Making
a great dog is only going to happen in the field with Commitments pre
arranged!
Starting out with a new pup is filled with both. Subtly Ringo the puppy
changed into a great dog and champion. Each bad habit softened, and
reformed.
NAVHDA is serious, without the crown-toppling competitor. Offered help is
resting near by. It’s the guy or gal with that resolute look, just ask.
You’re a welcome fit.
Sure you might feel like your hanging on a swivel, inertia taking you for a
spin, your helpers off there laurels! It’s Ok; you own a dog and you will
live longer!
Highlights of each year a field dance through my mind, the off days settle
into the shadows between. Dew covered fields surround the foot; my pawed
companion is ready to show me the way.
The harvest season’s shorter days and rich light are the colors we all look
at twice and long for as they shrink away. This is the uplander’s color and
gift, as is a new pup.
